Celtix provides a Java ESB runtime for enterprise services.
To install Celtix, you need Java 5 developer's kit as well as Apache Ant 1.6. The software can be installed on any operating system that is compatible with Java 5 platform.
When installing the Celtix binary distribution, you must follow these steps: download the distribution file to a local directory, create an installation directory, such as Celtic_bin4, open a command window, and then move to the installation directory. You also have to confirm that the %JAVA_HOME%bin (Windows) or $JAVA_HOME/bin (UNIX) directory is on the PATH. Finally, use the java executable to extract the archive.
The latest release of Celtix adds numerous useful features. These include persistence support for reliable messaging based on Apache Derby, HTTPS-based security support, support for Javascript-based Web services, dynamic configuration-changing support, management support for additional Celtix components, routing support for all Celtix bindings and transports, WS-Addressing support for JMS and HTTP-based services, interoperability with .NET, support for running Celtix inside Apache Tuscany, and support for Web service callbacks.
Overall, Celtix is a comprehensive software package that allows you to build reliable and flexible service-oriented applications with ease. Its robust runtime and simple APIs make it an ideal choice for developers looking for a flexible and easy-to-use platform.
