ChurchPup is a Puppy Linux variant designed for the Christian community, but accessible to all.
The software comes with Gimp 2.4.0-rc3, a graphics editor application that works seamlessly, and OpenOffice Suite version 2.2.0. The BibleDesktop 1.0.8 is a front end for jsword, which is an extremely versatile Bible study tool, while JRE1.6.0_01 is perfect for use by BibleDesktop and Firefox, the default browser.
Another great feature of ChurchPup is Firefox 2.0.0.11, which comes with the Bible Fox theme by Bodizzle2 pre-installed. There is also Thunderbird 2.0.0.9 Email Client with specific preferences set in advance for mailto and http links.
The ChurchPup software includes four HTML versions of the Bible, the King James Bible, the American Standard Bible, the NET Bible, and the WEB Bible. If you are a music lover, there are great packages for you too. This includes the Audacity 1.2.3 sound editor, Denemo-0.7.3-b1 front end for Lilypond-2.10 Musical notation software, and Timidity midi player for audio output of Denemo/Lilypond.
Other cool features of this software include WhoDo's EZPup for exquisite good looks and usability, GXBible, a script that uses gxmessage to display a different Bible verse each time ChurchPup starts up or when you click the Bible icon on the desktop along with Kino 1.0.0 for video editing, Mplayer 108 Media Player as the default Media Player, Cdmio as the CD Player, and Xtris, a Tetris clone included by request.
Overall, if you're looking for a software package that combines faith with technology, ChurchPup is a great option to consider.
