Cora is an emissions line spectra analysis software with a specialized line fitting tool to work with low count numbers.
Written in C with a graphical user interface, Cora is also fully compatible with IDL. However, to run the program, users will need GTK+ version 1.2.x, PGPLOT, and cfitsio.
Cora's latest release includes several new features, such as the ability to provide an individual profile function in ASCII, the addition of the lauded beta profile (Lorentz beta), expanded options for estimating source continuum, the ability to input exposure time directly in a spectrum file, style options for generating visually appealing plots in IDL, and the ability to iterate line widths as the same values.
Overall, Cora is an innovative and versatile line fitting tool that deserves a place in any astronomer's software suite.
