Course-manager is a registration system designed for educational institutions that is run on the web. It simplifies the registration process for all courses offered.
To use the software, users need a PostgreSQL database. The installation process is relatively easy and requires the user to adjust several settings before running the 'make' command. Specifically, users need to adjust the PUBLIC_ROOT and PRIVATE_ROOT paths in the Makefile, and the database credentials, public URL, and sender address in the config.php file. Once these settings have been adjusted, users can run the 'make init' command to initialize the database metadata tables and 'make install' command to create the database and install the scripts. If necessary, the user can grant database permissions for the web server using the 'sh grant-webserver.sh [database-role-of-the-webserver]| psql' command.
To configure the software, users can use the kursverwaltung.php, rechteverwaltung.php and kursangebotsverwaltung scripts on the private web server path. Note that the default user is 'test,' and the default password is 'test.' Once configured, the public web server path is ready to be used.
Recent updates are primarily focused on bug fixes and performance improvements. The latest release includes minor bug fixes that enhance the user experience. Overall, course-manager is a reliable and easy-to-use registration system that simplifies course attendance approval and registration processes.
