Crogai is a software that blends crowd simulation, AI, and genetic algorithms to generate diverse and realistic human behaviors in virtual environments.
Inspired by the OpenSteer project, Crogai uses steering behaviors as building blocks for the AI. This allows the agents to perform various actions such as grazing, hunting each other, and emitting spores for reproduction. Furthermore, the genetic algorithm in Crogai enables the agents to evolve and decide whether to reproduce or not.
The project also offers examples that make excellent screensavers. Additionally, the agents can emit spores in the environment, which are used in a genetic algorithm to evolve the agents. Users can observe many fascinating behaviors, including population explosions and extinctions.
Crogai also features a framework that allows machine learning algorithms, such as neural networks, to be used instead of explicit AI. Moreover, it works in both graphics and batch mode, thanks to a simulator-based architecture. This allows for a real-time/simulation-time ratio of any arbitrary value, based on the machine's capabilities.
Overall, Crogai is an excellent software that delivers an unmatched simulation experience using cutting-edge technology.
