CTBClient is a mobile app designed as a client for the CTB.
As a guinea pig for portable Python development, CTBClient is sponsored by INdT - Instituto Nokia de Tecnologia (Nokia Institute of Technology), where the developers have the environment and time to experiment with new ideas. The functional clients are diverse and include GTK+ Linux/local (no Bluetooth, for quick tests), GTK+ Linux Bluetooth, Symbian/S60 cell phone, and the GTK+/Hildon Linux (Maemo platform, like Nokia 770 tablets).
The servers for the CTBClient are equally diverse and include Linux/local (for testing) and Linux/Bluetooth. For running the servers, CTB SQL backend is required, while PyBluez for Linux/Bluetooth clients and servers and Python for Series 60 for the cell phone client, are also critical requirements.
In summary, CTBClient is a unique mobile client designed for the CTB, built on top of exciting technology, and sponsored by INdT - Instituto Nokia de Tecnologia. With its diverse and functional clients and servers, the software is the perfect guinea pig for portable Python development.
