This software package is designed for the Catweasel controller and offers a range of functionalities. To learn more about other available packages, refer to the information provided below.
For more information regarding the features of the controller, it is recommended that interested parties visit the homepage of the manufacturer, Individual Computers. It is worth noting that there are other Linux drivers for the Catweasel controller. The first is catweasel, written by Dirk Jagdmann, which is a Linux driver that supports SID, Joysticks, and the Amiga keyboard. The second, cwfloppy, written by Michael Krause, is a Linux driver that provides access to the floppies on a Catweasel controller.
This driver exports block devices which make it possible to mount Amiga disks under Linux. Presently it supports Amiga and MSDOS disks, and C1541 with a patch written by the author. In order to support more formats, the author decided to use another method to export stored data to the user space. Therefore, they began their own driver. Instead of a block device, cw uses a char device and passes the raw Catweasel data to the calling program, leaving all format routines outside of the kernel driver.
It is important to note that currently only one kernel module can be loaded while accessing the Catweasel controller. Other packages that exist can be found below.
