This software is an Ubuntu-based Live CD that comes equipped with dvd::rip-Cluster node, allowing users to easily rip DVDs using the power of a cluster of machines. It is a powerful tool that allows for efficient DVD ripping, saving time and effort.
Afterward, you can go to your master-computer and add this node. To find out its IP-Address, simply enter "ifconfig" in your node's terminal, and voila! You're good to go. Note that the username for this system is "cluster", and a password is not required. So, the SSH-Server accepts empty passwords, making it easier for you to connect without having to copy your public ID.
The dvd::rip Cluster Live CD is based on the Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty (alpha 4 or something like that) platform. But why is the image so huge? You don't need 220 MB for that! Well, it turns out that I do not have much experience with remastering, but I tried to shrink it as best as possible. Unfortunately, 220 MB seems to be the maximum size.
If you have any ideas on how to make the image even smaller, please feel free to leave a comment in the guestbook. Finally, if you are using dvd::rip 0.98.6, not to worry. This is the official version that comes with the Ubuntu repository. However, a newer version of the image that features the current version will be released in a few days.
