The installation process of eAR OS is quick and easy. Simply insert the Live CD and wait for the welcome menu. Click the Install Icon when the Live CD is up and running, and then enter the password from the README-FREE.TXT file. Follow the installation steps and let the installer run, after which you'll be prompted to reboot. Wait for 30 seconds while the Live CD closes, then press the reset button and log in.
eAR OS version 1.10b offers many new features and improvements. The updated version now uses the new FireFox 3 browser with the Mediaplayer Connectivity plugin to watch movies online. The new version also offers faster graphical rendering for the eAR Media Center, hardware acceleration, and a brand new theme for a better look. You can now select a username and password of your own choice, which makes it easier to remember. Additionally, all packages are the latest, and it features the Real-Time Linux kernel 2.6.24-19.
Installing eAR OS has never been easier. Set up your system by entering earmusic as your username and choosing a password of your own choice. If you prefer, you can select a username of your own choice instead and run the new wizard-places utility to specify where your music, video and photos are located. During the installation process, make sure you specify digital TV Listings, Recordings, and TV Time Shifts to be stored in the eAR-Video folder. Once you complete the process, you can watch your recorded TV programs within the eAR Media Center.
