eGWSync enables retrieval of eGroupware contacts, from MySQL or PostgreSQL databases, using LDAP.
One of the best things about eGWSync is that it only replicates contacts that have been added or changed. This means that you don't have to worry about duplicates or outdated contacts cluttering up your contact list. Additionally, eGWSync doesn't need additional schema to be loaded into the LDAP server. Only person, organizationalPerson, and inetorgperson are required.
Another great feature of eGWSync is its ability to let you use the friendly and efficient eGroupware system to manage your contacts. This can be particularly useful for businesses and organizations that rely on eGroupware for their day-to-day operations. Moreover, you can access the contacts from other applications like Squirrelmail or Mozilla Thunderbird.
To use eGWSync, you'll need a Perl capable system with the DBI and Net::LDAP modules, MySQL 5, and OpenLDAP (and you must not be already using the employeeNumber or description fields!). Once you have these requirements in place, you'll be able to enjoy the benefits of eGWSync and manage your eGroupware contacts with ease.
