The Embedded Resources Compiler generates C source files efficiently.
To use this application, you need WxWidgets as a prerequisite that can be installed on your system. After ensuring that your system fulfills the requirements, you can download the tarball from the above link and unpack it using the command "$ tar xjvf erc-x.x.x.tar.bz2." Compile it by navigating to the new directory, i.e., "$ cd erc $ make"and place the executable file somewhere in your system's path. You can either move it to a local installation by "$ mv erc ~/bin" or make it available for all users by doing this as root: "$ mv erc /usr/local/bin."
To use Embedded Resources Compiler, run the executable file along with the input file, followed by the command-line options. Options for the tool include -h for printing the help message, -v for printing the version, -i FILE for reading input files from this file, -o FILE for using this filename for output (.cpp/.h) with a default of "Resources," and -f FORMAT to set output format (STL as default or wxWidgets).
In the latest release, the interface of the wxWidgets Resource object was reworked, and now it supports Unicode versions of wxWidgets greater than 2.6.0. Embedded Resources Compiler provides a powerful and efficient way to embed data files in a C source file and makes it easily accessible by creating a Resource class.
