Enhydra Shark provides a unique workflow server solution.
One of the benefits of Enhydra Shark is that it can be used as a simple Java library in servlet or swing applications, as well as running in a J2EE container supporting a session beans API, Corba ORB or accessed as a web service. The software has sample ToolAgents for different common tasks in automated workflows, hence making it easier for users to automate such tasks.
The method of storage for process and activity instances is done via a configurable persistence API. The workflow engine kernel also supports configurable LRU caching, which is useful for high-load scenarios. For clustered installations, caching can be turned off.
Enhydra Shark is also extremely flexible when it comes to the user interface. Its XForms and XSLT based web worklist handler and admin application are easily customizable and adoptable to a user's needs. Unlike other solutions on the market, with Enhydra Shark, users have the freedom to define their own GUI and to integrate existing system components of their environment.
In the newest release of Enhydra Shark, the ExecutionAdministration API has been extended to include more options. Additionally, the FilterBuilder APIs were extended to support more powerful search options. Bugs were also fixed in the WAPI and XPDLBrowser interface implementations.
Overall, Enhydra Shark is an efficient and adaptable software that can be utilized in a variety of workflow scenarios.
