EWIPE is a presentation software that uses Tcl/Tk for its tools and features.
One of EWIPE's most significant advantages is that its data are plain texts, making it highly accessible and flexible. Users can view various file types, including images, tables, and animations easily.
To install EWIPE, users must first confirm the path for wish, after which they can copy uncompressed files to an adequate directory. For instance, the recommended directory for copying is /usr/local/lib/ewipe. However, when using EWIPE on a directory different from where the files are installed, one needs to set an environment parameter or modify a file of EWIPE.
To set the environment parameter, users should type the appropriate command based on their OS. In the case of csh, it entails setting the path as follows:
% setenv EWIPEPATH /usr/local/lib/ewipe
Alternatively, one may change the 30th line of ewipe to an absolute path instead of a relative path as follows:
from set PATH .
to (an absolute path) set PATH /usr/local/lib/ewipe
If the user can't find tclIndex in the directory with EWIPE, they can create one by running tclsh or wish and executing the following commands:
% auto_mkindex . *.tcl
% exit
