Flminicalc is a basic calculator software that employs FLTK framework for its operation.
FLTK cleverly abstracts the underlying system-dependent code through its own widget, drawing, and event systems. As a result, developers can create applications that look identical across all operating systems. FLTK is open-source under the LGPL license, which permits static linking from applications with incompatible licenses. Additionally, it comes with FLUID or the FLTK User Interface Designer that generates C++ source and header files.
Compared to libraries like Qt and wxWidgets, FLTK has a more straightforward design and focuses solely on GUI functionality. Consequently, its library is much smaller, and most applications statically link to it. Additionally, it avoids complex macros, separate code preprocessors, and the advanced C++ features, templates, exceptions, RTTI, and namespaces (for FLTK 1.x).
This simplicity, though, does have some drawbacks. FLTK has fewer widgets than other GUI toolkits, and it lacks the native look-and-feel on any platform due to its non-native widgets.
The only requirement for Flminicalc is the FLTK library. Despite the disadvantages, the library's modest size and ease of use make it an excellent choice for developers who want to create fast and simple applications.
