This software is an efficient solution for viewing large collections of images. With its zooming capability, users can easily navigate and explore their image collections.
Galapix is incredibly versatile and comes with several sub-commands that allow the user to either view images or pre-generate thumbnails. The most simple of these is using the ./galapix view [FILES] command, which allows you to display the given files. If you're looking to pre-generate only the small thumbnails, you can use ./galapix thumbgen [FILES]. For those desiring to generate not just the small thumbnails but all the tiles, there's the ./galapix prepare [FILES] command. Although some of the other available commands are mostly for debugging and have little practical use, they are still good to have as a backup option should you need them.
Galapix is incredibly user-friendly, and if you do not supply a list of files, the software will display all files in the database. Galapix also has a feature which allows you to specify a database via the -d flag, meaning you can have different databases for different files.
Overall Galapix is an impressive software, with excellent capabilities and features that make image viewing a smooth and seamless experience. Whether you need to zoom into tiny thumbnails or gigapixel scale images, Galapix makes viewing a pleasure.
