GKrellKam is a GKrellM plugin that acts as an image viewer.
The webcam feature is not the only feature that GKrellKam offers. Each panel can be associated with diverse multimedia elements, including an image URL, a local image filename, or a list of image filenames and URLs. Alternatively, a script can be provided to obtain a fresh image. Also, the plugin supports virtually any image format and dimension. It reduces the size of the image to fit into the screen panel and refreshes the source for updates after a pre-set duration.
The lower panel of the screenshot showcases some rotating pictures of the user's friends. Users can set up a script to choose the next image for display. A convenient feature is that GKrellKam can launch an image viewer showing an unscaled version of the current image when you click on the display panel. Right-clicking on the image triggers an immediate update. Designed to consume minimal CPU time, GKrellKam is an event-driven tool.
In conclusion, GKrellKam is an excellent plugin for image viewing that offers an array of impressive features to make image viewing convenient, engaging, and fun. The recent update has removed --proxy=off from wget options, which ultimately enhances its performance.
