Goggles is a user interface for Ogle DVD player.
In addition to the features provided by Ogle, Goggles offers a number of additional benefits, including a preferences panel for setting up keyboard shortcuts, DXR3 settings, and language and country preferences. It even automatically disables screensaver and DPMS to provide an uninterrupted viewing experience. Furthermore, you can configure your keyboard shortcuts from the GUI and access the Xvideo and DXR3 control panels. A PDF manual is also included to help you get started.
To use Goggles, you will need to have Ogle 0.9.2 or Ogle CVS as well as FOX 1.4 (stable) and libpng installed on your system. Installing Goggles is simple- start by installing all required dependencies, such as Ogle and FOX. From there, you can run the Goggles Build script, 'gb', to start compiling the software. You may need to specify a few command line options when running this script; use the '--help' command for a complete list of available options. If you are running Ogle from CVS, you will also need to specify '--ogle-cvs=yes'.
Once everything is compiled correctly, you can install Goggles in its final location. By default, it will be installed in '/usr', but you can use the '--prefix' option to specify a different location. It is important to ensure that ogle and goggles are installed in the same prefix location. Finally, simply run 'goggles' to get started.
This release of Goggles includes some minor fixes to address compilation warnings on newer GCC versions. The default X11 directory prefix was also changed to /usr/lib and /usr/include. Overall, Goggles is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a reliable and feature-packed frontend for their Ogle DVD player.
