GoldED+ is a replacement for the Fidonet Mail Reader, GoldED.
When the first patch was submitted, the official maintainers rejected it, but other patches were eventually accepted. However, by the middle of 1999, all the maintainers of the official GoldED had left Fidonet, and their interest in the project had dwindled. Moreover, version names of GoldED-asa had become excessively long and no longer fit MSDOS 8+3 format.
The developer reached out to Odinn, asking for a 3.1.x version number to be donated, but got no response. After the final release of GoldED-asa, which was GoldED-asa10 beta 3, the project was renamed to GoldED+. The first version of GoldED+ was called GoldED+ 1.1.0. The latest stable version is Golded+ 1.1.4.7, and the current version under development is Golded+ 1.1.5.
Overall, GoldED+ is a reliable software program that offers a range of useful features for users. The developer's work to maintain a stable version and continue to develop updates has been commendable, making the program a great choice for anyone looking for a dependable mail reader.
