gprof2dot.py is a Python tool that converts gprof output into a dot graph quickly and efficiently.
To showcase critical areas or hot-spots, gprof2dot.py uses color effectively. Best of all, this software works on virtually all platforms where GNU gprof, graphviz, and Python are available.
To get started, users can run "gprof2dot.py" and use a variety of options such as adjusting the node or edge threshold or picking a custom color map by using the --colormap flag.
New in this release is the addition of an innovative heuristic to propagate time inside recursive function cycles, which allows one to visualize the critical time path for highly recursive code. Finally, the latest version includes various bug fixes and enhancements to make it even more effective, especially when it comes to parsing oprofile output.
