Gtk+ Hack is a user-friendly graphical interface designed for NetHack and its variants. It allows players to interact with the game through a visual display, making gameplay more immersive and accessible.
The development of Gtk+ Hack had its origins from the JNetHack project, which eventually found its way into using Slash'EM. However, the software is now being unbundled from said project, which means it can be used on its own.
But before using it, users should ensure they have NetHack Proxy installed. The recently released 0.9.0 version of Gtk+ Hack is the first to be unbundled from Slash'EM. However, despite the separation, the software still has a few dependencies on Slash'EM.
It is worth noting that there are no significant changes or advantages in using this version over the one included in Slash'EM Vampire. Nevertheless, it's still a fun piece of software to experiment with.
