GTKTetcolor is an X-based Tetris clone software that has a small size. It allows users to play the classic Tetris game on their devices.
Players of gtktetcolor will quickly notice its similarities to classic Tetris and Columns games. The gameplay is straightforward - as blocks continue to fall, players can move and rotate them to align matching colors horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Once a sequence of at least three cells is cleared, the above blocks will collapse, and if multiple sequences are removed simultaneously, the player earns bonus points. The game ends once a block cannot be placed on the screen.
The developer of gtktetcolor wrote the game with Glade, keeping requirements in mind. Users should ensure they have the GTK+ version 2.4.0 library or above, as well as GConf and libgnomeui (both recommended).
With the latest release, users will find fixes to issues with newer gtk+ and GNOME. While support for GNOME 2.12 is not complete and may be deprecated, gtktetcolor continues to be a quality open-source option for fans of the classic Tetris game.
