This software simplifies the process of creating visually appealing and playable music sheets for guitarists who want to print them with ease.
This program was initially developed on a Linux system, but it is compatible with any Unix system that has a Perl/TK environment. It was created based on the idea of Martin Leclerc and Mario Dorion, who are from Canada and created the Chord program (Version 3.5 from 1993).
Before using GuitarTeX, you must have some knowledge of the Chord program, which is thoroughly explained later. However, you don't have to worry too much about the LaTeX text processing system - GuitarTeX uses it to create the output automatically.
GuitarTeX produces Postscript or PDF output easily and allows you to customize your output based on your preferences. The Chord directives incorporated by GuitarTeX are explained in detail in Chapter 5, making it easy for users to be familiar with the process and achieve outstanding results. With GuitarTeX, guitarists can make their music look more professional, polished, and personalized.
