ISCII Utilities are two software tools designed to analyze Indian Script Code encoded text files.
The first program, IsciiName, is a tool that identifies each code while displaying the byte offset, hex code, and a detailed explanation of the meaning of the code. This program also has the ability to interpret ATR codes for writing system transition and display mode.
The second program in the ISCII Utilities package is CountIsciiChars. This program specializes in counting the codes in an ISCII-encoded file and classifying them based on their type and function. While the original purpose of this program was to generate accurate letter counts for reading studies, this tool can be incredibly useful for processing ISCII-encoded text for any application.
The latest release of ISCII Utilities has new features, including an -h flag that provides detailed explanations tailored to those unfamiliar with ISCII or Indian writing systems. This added feature makes ISCII Utilities an incredibly user-friendly software package to analyze text files and understand ISCII-encoded text.
