JLJ is a client for LiveJournal.com that enables text-only interaction.
With JLJ, you can create, edit, and postpone entries even offline. You can queue up posts to be submitted later when you are connected to the internet or leave them in your postponed folder indefinitely. Furthermore, JLJ only requires the base installation of perl and socket libraries, which are typically available on most unix-based systems.
Although JLJ may work on some non-unix ports of perl, it's highly unlikely. JLJ's latest version includes support for "tags" and minor bug fixes over 2.9 and 2.10. In summary, JLJ is a capable and user-friendly tool for managing and posting entries on LiveJournal.
