Jodviewer is a Java-based component and standalone viewer used to view OpenDocument presentations. It provides a user-friendly interface to view and edit presentations.
Using the jodviewer project is a breeze; simply start the viewer via "viewer.jar" with the command "java -Xmx512 -jar viewer.jar" or double-click the file to launch it. From there, select the odp file you want to view, and you're good to go.
One feature of the jodviewer project that I found particularly handy is the applet version. By using this version, it's possible to display test.odp files from the same directory as the jodviewer.jar file and the HTML page. The code for the applet looks like this:
< applet code="com.blubb.jodviewer.ViewerApplet.class"
codebase="."
archive="jodviewer.jar"
width="600" height="600" >
< param name="presentation" value="/test.odp" / >
No Java Plug-In available.
< /applet >
In terms of requirements, the jodviewer project requires Java 1.5 or later. However, the latest release of the software includes improvements to the ODF compatibility with markers, colors, and spacing. Additionally, the build system has been improved, and there are even Ubuntu packages available.
All in all, I would highly recommend the jodviewer project to anyone in need of a reliable, user-friendly viewer for OpenDocument presentations.
