JRequisite is a versatile tool for managing requirements in agile environments. It facilitates the creation and organization of requirements, user stories, and other relevant information in a streamlined manner. It also supports collaboration among team members and helps minimize the risk of project scope creep.
In order to use JRequisite, you'll need to have Java SE 1.4.2 or newer, as well as Eclipse 3.2.1 with several other additions including EMF 2.2.2, XSD 2.2.2, GEF 3.2.2, OCL 1.0.2, Query 1.0.2, Validation 1.0.2, Transaction 1.0.3, and GMF 1.0.2.
Installation of JRequisite is relatively straightforward, as it is comprised of Eclipse plugins based on the Graphical Modeling Framework. If you meet the tool requirements, the installation process is quick and easy – simply download the bundle containing the plugins and unpack it at your Eclipse root directory. Although the process is currently manual, an Eclipse installation/update site is planned for future releases.
This first JRequisite release includes a fully-functional Flowchart diagram editor which is based on the Eclipse GMF. Overall, JRequisite is a versatile and robust tool for managing requirements for a variety of software development processes.
