KBiof is a KDE-compatible openGL screensaver for use on personal computers. It is designed to enhance visual interest and display capabilities during periods of inactivity.
It's also worth noting that the performance of the KBiof screensaver is highly dependent on your graphics card's strength, as well as on the proper installation of the correct Xorg driver for your particular card. If those elements are in place, though, you should be set.
If you're interested in downloading KBiof, you have the option of downloading either the sources or a precompiled binaries package for Felinux distro (including Slackware 11). Upon downloading, installation is a simple process: just open konsole, type "su" and input your root password, and then type "installpkg kbiof-0.1-i486-1.tgz". That's it - the KBiof screen saver will immediately be available via Desktop configuration -> ScreenSavers -> OpenGL. Additionally, this package is compatible with Slackware Linux 11.
If you want to compile the KBiof sources yourself, you'll need to follow a few additional steps. First, decompress the archive. Next, open konsole and navigate to the directory where the sources are stored. Finally, type "./configure make make install" (as root) and you're all set. The KBiof screen saver will be readily available via Desktop configuration -> ScreenSavers -> OpenGL.
Finally, it's worth mentioning that the latest release of KBiof includes the ability to change the rendering color of Triangles, Spheres, and BigSpheres.
