Kconfigure streamlines software installation with its user-friendly graphical interface.
To make use of Kconfigure, one has to keep in mind a few requirements. Version 2.x of the software requires kdelibs (version 3.0 or greater) to compile it, along with Qt (version 3.0 pr greater). While optional checkinstall support requires checkinstall (version 1.5.3 tested).
The latest update of Kconfigure has brought some new features such as custom checkinstall options, Qmake support, and switched to a build install selector. Also, bzip files can now be supported and What's This? support has been added.
The update has also fixed a few minor bugs such as a bug that kept checkinstall and make install from working on Suse Linux. Furthermore, there was a bug in the configure help system that kept any help info from loading into the dialog, thus making Configure Help worthless. Dozens of other minor bugs were addressed as well.
All in all, Kconfigure is a very useful software that makes the process of compiling and installing software a walk in the park. Its user-friendly interface and the new features make it even more efficient and reliable. If you are someone who has been struggling with this process, Kconfigure is definitely a tried-and-tested software worth giving a shot.
