Krip2clip is a software for KDE that serves as a menu and command-line tool to extract raw clips from DVD or ISO images of DVDs.
The audio tracks in AC3 can be forced to encode to avoid noises that can be experienced when editing. Users can also choose from existing subtitles.
The tool is simple to use, and all you need to do is follow the dialog. You can find it by right-clicking action menu under your Desktop, Konqueror, and Dolphin.
It is easy to install Krip2clip. All you need to do is to unzip the file to your home location and check the INSTALL text for instructions on how to set it up (in doc/[lang]/ folder). The package can also be installed from a console window by typing "./setup.sh" in the uncompressed folder location. Additionally, you need the Rexx-regina package and HandBrakeCLI command to be installed, in addition to what is typically included in the KDE standard packages. You can also install the HandBrakeCLI command directly within the setup process (third option).
One thing to consider is that when interrupted "sadly," the HandBrakeCLI command doesn't delete its temporary files. They are in the /tmp folder and called hb.######, where ###### is a number. Hence, you can easily delete them anytime you need or want to.
Despite being a beta version, Krip2clip is fully functional, so feel free to report any bugs or improvement requests that you have.
