Kripper is a software tool that offers a simple interface to rip VCDs and convert them into DivX format.
To run Kripper, you need a GNU/Linux system with an X server running, KDE, and its libraries installed. Additionally, you should have cdrdao, Mplayer (i.e., Mencoder), mkfsiso, and vcdxrip installed. However, as of the initial release, you only need cdrdao.
The latest release comes packed with new features such as a real KDE application as opposed to a plain Qt Application. The setup dialog has been added, and the settings can now be easily saved in ~/.kde/share/config/Kripperrc. Even more impressively, Kripper now boasts of Divx Conversion support, meaning you can rip a VCD and convert it into DivX using this excellent GUI front end.
