KVortaro is a software that enables users to translate words from one language to another.
Once the word has been selected, a small window pops up close to the mouse pointer and displays the translation. This feature is particularly useful for users who need to translate text quickly and efficiently.
The development of KVortaro was started due to the lack of full-featured, simple-to-use translation software available for Linux/KDE. Although some programs do exist, they lack the ability to click on a word anywhere on the desktop, perform optical character recognition (OCR), and display a translation in a small pop-up window.
The first release of KVortaro includes dictionaries for English-German and German-Esperanto. These dictionaries are currently in a simple text-file format, but plans are underway to use a more sophisticated file format in future releases.
Overall, KVortaro is a great software for anyone who needs quick and efficient translations. Its user-friendly interface, multiple word selection methods, and pop-up translation window make it a great addition to any language toolset.
