The KWC app is a calculator used to determine key width quickly and easily.
One of the most beneficial features is the ability to convert command line options to long integers under strtol(3) conversion base 0. This means that you can mix octal, decimal, and hexadecimal numbers without any trouble. The integers are then multiplied together to provide the required number of combinations, while key coverage data is automatically calculated.
To use KWC, you must have a development and testing platform that is a PC under Linux 2.0.38, libc5. Additionally, log10() is required, which is normally found in math.h (libm), as well as values.h for byte size. In case values.h is missing and BITSPERBYTE is not defined, kwc.h may be checked and adjusted as required.
This latest release of KWC comes with extra benefits, including improvements in floating overflow checks. All in all, KWC is an impressive utility that offers great value and convenience to those who require advanced key width calculation.
