Life RPG is a software project that intends to serve as a framework or engine. It utilizes user-friendly XML programming and aims to enhance the virtual gaming experience.
Life RPG's engine is designed to use clear and strict XML files that allow users with little or no programming, audio or graphical experience to develop their custom content. This feature enables anyone to have fun creating and playing their personalized adventure and sharing it with friends and the community.
To make the engine as robust as possible, Life RPG uses only libraries that are compilable and used across a variety of platforms. Currently tested in Linux, the engine's developer expects to release compatible versions for Windows and Mac operating systems soon.
It's worth noting that there is an issue with the Guichan library and its implementation of SDL's unicode. However, the developer has written a work-around for this issue. If the Guichan developers do not address it, the library will be included with future releases of the game.
Being a project that is heavily under development, the game should perform optimally at its current stage of development. However, there has been no extensive bug testing yet. As such, users should read the readme/changelog/todo files in the downloads section for information on what is and is not working on individual releases.
The Life RPG project is open to anyone interested in contributing to its development. Users can contact the developer via his website's 'About Me' page or email address.
