Live Loops is an audio looping software that allows for live music production, enabling users to create custom soundscapes in real time.
Please note, you must create a sub-directory in the location where you execute the program, called 'samples' that contains all of your audio samples in wav format. This is necessary for the software to properly function.
If Live Loops doesn't launch in a window, it will automatically attempt to use framebuffer under Linux. The software was originally created for personal use, to provide a simple way of putting loops together and outputting them through existing soundcard hardware into an external mixer.
In future updates, we plan to add some new features to enhance the software's functionality. This includes adding code to send a pulse to the parallel port to control the timing of a Commodore64 computer, which was present in version 0.1 before it was ported to Linux. We're also looking at introducing audio-input functionality so that users can easily loop a bar of guitar or other instruments whilst playing over the top, similar to a delay pedal.
Overall, Live Loops is a powerful and versatile tool for live music production. With its intuitive interface and feature-packed functionality, it's the perfect choice for musicians looking to take their live looping to the next level.
