m0n0wall-CMI is a remote management tool for m0n0wall devices that provides a centralized interface for device management.
The software has been developed using PHP5 Object-oriented programming, with developer documentation in place, aiding in software contribution. Currently, the backend database supported is MySQL. However, this software's architectural design allows for easy porting to support other backends as well.
The software's key features include a centralized interface to manage m0n0wall devices, with the ability to restore fetch configurations securely through HTTPS. It also enables user/group management, global and m0n0wall aliases, interfaces and VLANs, firewall rules, NAT entries, proxyARP, static routes, syslog, and SNMP settings. Furthermore, it can import existing m0n0wall devices into the database, and more features are set to come in the future.
To install the software, unzip the file in the web-directory of your choice, and have a webserver, PHP5 installation with CURL extension, MySQL server with a database, and some m0n0wall devices to manage. The installation has a requirement check before installation, and any issues can be corrected by issuing commands in the software directory.
In this latest release, many bug fixes have been made, and the software's unknown objects are now kept intact instead of being dropped.
In summary, m0n0wall-CMI is an excellent software that simplifies m0n0wall device management, allowing for efficient multiple device management and centralization of all configurations.
