MacOSD is a visualization interface designed for PBButtonsD, the power event and button daemon used in Apple devices. This software provides a simplified and efficient means of visualizing the functionalities of PBButtonsD.
However, the example Gtk+ application gtkpbbuttons may not seem to be that pretty or appealing to some users. Hence, to overcome this shortcoming, a more On-Screen-Display like variant was implemented. Currently, it can effortlessly utilize the XOSD library while the other program has some pixmap theming support but is still handwritten in C and uses Gtk+.
The latest version of MacOSD leverages the anti-aliasing and real alpha blending canvas library - Evas, which enhances its overall functionality. Its support for gtkpbbuttons themes is flawless and it also comes with a slightly cleaned-up version CleanOSX.
With the latest X.org servers and a running composition manager, the latest release of MacOSD (version 0.3.0) is also able to provide real transparency. The only key requisite for this application is PBButtonsd.
In the most recent update, the program was adapted for Evas images in pre-multiplied alpha format and also for pbbuttonsd's latest brightness value range change. Additionally, it was tested on Intel Macs to ensure that it works seamlessly without any glitches or bugs.
