MatPlan is a transport planning software that utilizes a standard insertion technique for single agent planning. With its Multi-Agent functionality, it enables efficient scheduling and optimization of transportation systems.
While the quality of these solutions is not optimal, MatPlan offers dynamic functionality, which allows for the generation of solutions within a single second. The overarching goal of the project is to build a fast and reliable transport planning tool based on existing techniques with the ultimate aim of having multiple instances of such a tool cooperating.
MatPlan's current version is not multi-agent, but offers some key features, including reading in VRPTW problems (vehicle routing with time windows), creating a non-optimal solution for a VRPTW problem using onlyinsertion (which is fast, but produces suboptimal results), outputting the solution as a VRP-solution, reading in VRP solutions, checking the feasibility of a solution, and running both statically and dynamically (with daemon mode available for immediate order insertion upon arrival at a local port). The latest alpha version released features only an insertion algorithm.
Overall, MatPlan offers a powerful means of addressing transport planning needs. While it is not perfect, it is a reliable and efficient option worth exploring for those in need of a transport planning tool.
