Metawidget is a multi-platform software that can produce user interfaces for your domain objects automatically. These interfaces are native to the environment you are using and can be created during runtime.
The software, as much as possible, tries not to introduce new technologies. It leverages runtime inspection of an application’s existing back-end architecture to determine existing JavaBeans, annotations, and XML configuration files. Metawidget then leverages this information to create widgets native to their specific front-end framework, including Swing, Java Server Faces, Struts or Android.
This approach ensures that Metawidget doesn’t replace or hide your existing User Interface framework. It works in perfect harmony with your current frameworks while guaranteeing that your investment in their technology and knowledge is always valid.
Metawidget’s use of the LGPL open source license allows its use in both open source and commercial projects. It guarantees low-cost software adoption, and it comes with a Hosted and Codehaus distribution. In summary, Metawidget is a game-changing software for developers, providing them with a faster and more efficient way to manage User Interface components.
