MixViews is an X window system-based software with a graphics-interface program.
One of the standout features of MixViews is its impressive capabilities that go well beyond the older "mixview" program. The software offers six different kinds of on-disk data that can be created, edited, and stored, all of which are used and/or beneficial for sound synthesis. Additionally, users can display any number of files simultaneously on the screen and cut & paste between them in many different ways.
MixViews makes it possible to perform various types of sound and data modification with ease. And, everything needed to compile the software is available in the public domain, accessible through various archives worldwide. If you have, or can obtain a modern C++ compiler for your platform, you can most likely compile and run MixViews on your machine.
The recent release of MixViews has made notable improvements to the software. There is now a full undo/redo command history control, progress bar action has been enhanced, and there is an audition command for PVoc data files. Furthermore, the Fade In/Out command has been extended for all data types, and several bugs in several commands have been fixed.
Full menu command enable/disable, depending on the edit state is a new addition to the software. Additionally, MixViews now has an improved smart memory to properly report a total limit overflow, and the insert cursor now returns to its position after playback. The displayed region's scale does not change after playback, and the undo of "delay" command has been fixed. Moreover, the menu state update and the wave header write have been debugged, and unsigned char case has been addressed.
Overall, MixViews has proven to be a reliable and efficient software for sound synthesis and data processing, and its recent updates have further enhanced its capabilities. If you are in search of a reliable and flexible program for your sound-related projects, MixViews is worth considering.
