Mod_memcached is a module for Apache that enables Memcached clusters to offer GET, PUT, and DELETE services.
With mod_memcached, you can serve content directly from memcached through Apache to your clients, providing you with greater control over your web content. To install mod_memcached, you'll need to type "make; make install," and then copy the contents of the memcached.conf into your Apache server's httpd conf.
It's important to note that by default, this module will take over your entire web server. Content type is derived from the object stored in memcached. It's also worth mentioning that PUT and DELETE support may not be well tested, and as such, enabling them is not recommended unless you know what you're doing.
To use mod_memcached, you'll need Apache. What's new in the most recent release includes the addition of MemcachedExpiration to set default expire times on objects pushed into memcached, and MemcachedSizeLimit to limit the size of objects which can be pushed into memcached. Additionally, there was a bug fix in not being able to store data via HTTP PUT, and the module now has support for Apache filters.
