Moodss is a software application that offers modular monitoring techniques by using a Graphical User Interface (GUI) and a daemon.
What sets Moodss apart from other monitoring applications is its user-friendly GUI, complete with context-sensitive help and a drag-and-drop scheme that facilitates ease of use. Furthermore, dashboards created using Moodss can be used by the companion moomps daemon to store module data cells history over time in a database that is compatible with MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2, and ODBC.
Moodss is an incredibly versatile application that can monitor any sort of data, including the system, database (MySQL), network, hardware, and more. Users can create dashboards from any number of modules with graphical viewers (graphs, bar charts, pies, etc.) and thresholds that are easily created using the drag-and-drop feature, all of which can be saved in a loadable file.
Developing specific modules with a scripting language like Tcl, Perl, or Python is an uncomplicated process, and tables of formulas can also be created with mathematical expressions made from data cells from any modules, including other formulas tables.
With Moodss, users can easily browse through the database for data analysis, and the GUI assures quick and intuitive operation even in real-time mode. The application supports various platforms, including all UNIX, Linux, BSD-based machines, and Windows (although not all functions are available).
The latest version of Moodss includes the ability to edit thresholds per page, making it easier to manage large quantities of thresholds. Additionally, the email library was patched to ensure that messages' data sections are correctly terminated. Various minor improvements and bug fixes were also made.
