Moosic is a Unix-compatible music player designed for listening enjoyment.
The server continually runs through its song queue by popping songs off the top of the list and playing each with an external program. This means that you can easily manage your playlist without having to take any manual actions.
The client utility, which is a simple command-line interface, allows you to perform various operations on the server's queue, including the addition of whole directory trees, automatic shuffling, and song removal according to regular expressions. This provides you with complete control over your music.
The server also comes pre-configured to play various file formats, including MP3, Ogg, MIDI, MOD, and WAV. However, you can easily configure it to play any other file format you want.
To use the Moosic player, you will need to have several requirements installed on your system. These include findutils, Python 2.2, and recommended tools such as mpg123, SoX, TiMidity++, and vorbis-tools. After meeting these requirements, you can enjoy the convenient playlist management capabilities of Moosic on your Unix system.
