Mp4web is a PHP4 script designed for easy management of mp4live files.
To install MP4WEB, make sure you have the following server-side requirements: Apache, PHP, and pear, MPEG4IP, Darwin Streaming Server, and an audio/video capture device. On the client-side, you will only need a web browser and a multimedia player browser plugin installed with RTSP and MPEG4 support.
Before installation, you should first grant access to audio and video devices to the apache group (which is typically www-data, apache, or httpd). You can do this by editing /etc/group and adding your apache group to audio and video groups. Next, ensure that the correct permissions are set to Darwin Media Directory (usually /usr/local/movies/) by running the #chown -R www-data:www-data /usr/local/movies command.
After completing the initial setup, unpack application files in the Apache document root and edit the configuration file to suit your system (configure.php). Once completed, access MP4WEB by pointing your browser to index.php and enjoy the software's fantastic features.
