MR Application enables users to perform checkout, update, and other actions on a group of repositories similar to a single combined repository.
One of the standout features of Mr is its extreme configurability through simple shell scripting. Users can perform a range of actions, such as updating a repository no more frequently than once every twelve hours, running an arbitrary command before committing to a repository, or pulling from two different upstreams and merging the two together when updating a git repository.
Mr is also incredibly efficient, allowing users to run several repository updates in parallel, greatly speeding up the update process. Those interested in trying out Mr can find it on git://git.kitenet.net/mr, or through gitweb. It's worth noting that Mr has recently been added to Debian.
With this latest release, Mr has addressed portability issues for the non-POSIX shell of SunOS 5, thanks to a patch from Ken Bloom. Additionally, the number of rcs tests run has been cut in half, making the software even more streamlined and efficient. All in all, Mr is a powerful, configurable and efficient software option for handling multiple repositories. Highly recommended!
