MuX2d is a music notation editor that produces MusiXTeX files through the use of a graphical user interface.
The source code of MuX2d is currently in the early stages of development, which means there is still room for improvement. Despite this, MuX2d has a lot of features to offer. For example, it allows you to create scores with up to six instruments, with up to four staffs per instrument. You can also add simple notes with accidental, rests, and bars, while upbars are supported. Plus, you can have multiple heads on one note and automatic beams between notes, which makes the software all the more powerful.
Moreover, the software enables you to set different signatures and meters, load/store in a simple text format, and create MusiXTeX files. You can also add text in the score, which is a handy feature. In terms of updates, the latest release includes a nicer layout with different frames for different states. Additionally, it optimizes memory usage while showing usage, and there are more screen updates to show that the software is alive. Finally, there have been many fixes in screen and TeX output, making MuX2d an improved and more reliable software for music notation.
