Muxi is a DVB-T compatible TV application and personal video recorder, facilitating the easy recording and storage of TV programs.
To install Muxi, there are a few steps you need to follow. First, edit Makefile - this is optional, but you may want to do it. Next, compile muxi by typing “make. Then, start the MySQL server – for instance, you might run "/etc/init.d/mysqld start”. The next step would be to create the muxi db and inject the db structure. You can do this using the command line prompt by copying these commands: mysqladmin -u root create muxi, mysql -u root muxi < tools/muxi.sql and mysql -u root muxi -f < tools/dbchanges.sql.
Now, fetch channels.conf matching your region (e.g. from , or run w_scan to create your own channels.conf) and run channels_conf_2_db.pl from the tools sub-directory. To do this, enter the tool’s sub-directory by typing "cd tools," then use "perl channels_conf_2_db.pl channels.conf " to run the system.
If you use w_scan, check the channels.conf first. Some networks could have been recognized twice - on different (and possibly bad) frequencies. After completing the steps above, start muxi using "./muxi." An essential thing to note is that after the first run, the initial configuration is created in the db. Finally, press F12 to exit and restart muxi.
Muxi's latest release has addressed a critical issue that previously impacted the software's functionality. Specifically, version 0.6.1's bug fix in the src/db.h has enabled flawless audio recordings. With these latest improvements, Muxi continues to be an excellent software choice for anyone looking for a reliable, feature-packed TV application and personal video recorder that is effortless to use.
