MyFileNote creates a text file for any file or directory and opens it in your text editor, providing a useful service menu.
With MyFileNote, users can have detailed information on the files on their computer, making it an incredibly helpful tool. The service menu can be used for a range of purposes such as adding descriptions to things downloaded from Websites, taking notes on project to-dos, among others. For instance, if a user downloads a file example.zip, they can simply right-click it, go to Actions and then MyFileNote, and Kwrite will open, allowing the user to copy-paste the url there.
The txt-file's name is example.zip.txt and is created in the same directory where example.zip is located. Adding more information is quite convenient as you can just add your text to the existing example.zip.txt document.
Installation is also quite simple. Exract and Copy MyFileNote.desktop to "/home/USERNAME/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/" or for all Users-do as root, copy it to "/usr/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/". For users who prefer to use a different editor, e.g., Kate, they can easily edit MyFileNote.desktop and replace all "kwrite" with "kate".
Overall, MyFileNote is a handy tool that every user will find useful. Any comments on this fantastic software are welcome.
