Myosotis software enables direct connections of MySQL and PostgreSQL clients to the Sequoia cluster.
One of the best things about Myosotis is that it's not just an independent tool - it's part of the Continuent uc/connector product suite. As an open-source product, Continuent has built Myosotis into a powerful tool that works well with your applications.
If you're just starting with Myosotis, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, you'll need to untar the files and make some edits to the configuration files. These will tell Myosotis what you're trying to connect to and what it needs to do.
Once you've made the necessary modifications, launching Myosotis is a straightforward process. All you have to do is enter the command $ ./myosotis and let it do its thing. By default, Myosotis listens on port 9999. You can check connectivity with this port by running the following command for MySQL: $ mysql -uuser -ppass -h127.0.0.1 -P9999 DB, or for PostgreSQL: $ psql -Uuser -h127.0.0.1 -p9999 DB.
One of the best features of Myosotis is that it can run multiple configurations at startup. As you launch the application, you can specify different config files that will determine how Myosotis behaves. This allows the same Myosotis process to function on port 9999 as a MySQL server or on port 8888 as a PostgreSQL server. This flexibility gives you a lot of options when it comes to using the tool with your applications.
