This software retrieves a list of results from a Z39.50 search.
The SYNOPSIS provided in the documentation was helpful and allowed me to quickly get started with the module. In my code, I used the resultSet() method provided by the Net::Z3950::Connection class to obtain a ResultSet object. This object represents the set of records found by a Z39.50 server in response to a search.
One important thing to note is that there is no constructor method for this class. The ResultSet object is always created by the Net::Z3950 module itself and returned to the caller via the resultSet() method. Also worth mentioning is that at any given time, none, some, or all of the records may have been physically transferred to the client. This is due to a cache being maintained by the module.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the use of Net::Z3950::ResultSet if you need to perform Z39.50 searches in your Perl code. It is easy to use and provides useful functionality for retrieving and working with remote data.
