Nevena's Metronome is a software tool that features a Qt-based graphical user interface for generating metronome beats.
The following are some noteworthy features of Nevena's Metronome:
BPM - The ability to set the speed of stroboscope in BPM (Beats Per Minute).
Tact - Users can define the number of tacts. This feature is primarily the number, not the length, so if you are playing a 3/4 or 3/3 score, you should set it to 3. Set it to 7 for a 7/8 score, and accordingly for other scores. This option is necessary only if you are viewing fields or listening to counting.
Stroboscope - Capability for turning stroboscope on and off. This feature makes the entire window go black or white with each tact. It's useful if you don't want sound, and you won't have to check the screen to know that the tact has changed since the window will lit or dim your room, particularly when it is dark (maximize the window for full effect).
Pendulum - Currently non-functional, but when (if) it becomes available, it will display metronome pendulum.
Fields - Option for turning fields on and off. This feature will show you at which tact you currently are.
You can have several Stroboscope, Pendulum, and Fields options set simultaneously.
Beep - Produces a system beep with each tact.
Counting - Plays samples of counting with each tact. You will hear one, two, three, and so on.
Ticking - Plays samples of ticking with each tact.
You can set only one (or none) of the Beep, Counting, and Ticking options simultaneously.
Counting samples - Option to set the directory of counting samples. To create your samples, create an empty directory and put samples named 1.wav, 2.wav, 3.wav, and so on. We would like to include samples in various voices and languages in the next version of Nevena's Metronome, so please send them to us.
Ticking samples - Set the directory of ticking samples. To create your samples, create an empty directory and put tick.wav and tack.wav samples inside it. We would appreciate real metronome ticking or any other interesting ticking you have, so please send them to us, and we will include them in the distribution.
